Developing Your Child’s Self-Esteem

Confidence seems to come naturally to some individuals, but this sureness is a trait learned from early age through experience and support.

kite_solidSome children leave home ready to take on the world, certain that their place is waiting for them. Others approach adulthood feeling like what they say isn't important or valued by others. They feel unaccepted, unappreciated, and unable to reach their potential.

Developing self-esteem helps children and adults make the right choices. It allows them to challenge themselves when the outcome isn't obvious.

Through this workshop Gestalt Associates therapists will help parents, teachers and child professionals come to learn what self-esteem is, how to help nurture it, and understand that without it those negative beliefs can take root, closing doors that otherwise would be open to opportunity.

Children and teenagers face stresses in their day-to-day life that pull on their individualities and coerce them into poor decisions. Help them understand who they are, their value in this world and how to create an environment where they can appreciate, express and understand what is going on inside themselves.
